Basic Quilling Instructions
Create quilled rolls and shapes by rolling quilling paper, using the slotted tool or quilling needle on your quilling board.
With the slotted tool in one hand and quilling paper strip in the other, put the end of the paper into the tool slot. Using the quilling board, twirl the tool towards you. Use the other hand to guide the circle so that it does not unwind. Then hold the paper roll gently and remove the tool. Glue the loose end after checking the measurement against the design pattern.
The needle tool does not have a slot to guide the paper. It allows the centre of the coils to be smaller. With the quilling needle in one hand, a quilling paper strip in the other and the quilling board underneath, roll the paper around the needle. Glue the loose end after checking the measurement against the design pattern.
Stick the loose end of your coil using very small amounts of tacky glue applied with a tooth pick. Stick your quilled rolls and shapes together referring to the design patterns.
